In October 2002, Eric David Gould learned
that
a pair of Civil War era buildings were going to be auctioned.
Built in 1862, the buildings originally housed a grocery, feed
and seed store and a livery. This mercantile establishment
was an integral part of the Germantown/Smoketown community.
Conveniently located in the middle of Old Louisville,
the Highlands, Germantown and Downtown, the property presented
Eric with an
opportunity to become a part of the revitalization of this
wonderfully diverse and eclectic neighborhood.
Eric
and his wife Lynn purchased the property
and spent the next 4 years restoring it.
In May 2007, they
opened Smoketown
USA BBQ, a unique gathering place where you will
enjoy awesome food and the fun of browsing the ever
changing array of “yard
sale” items that decorate the store.
Stop in for a visit- you’ll be glad you
came!
Everything in the store is for sale!
